Directions to the Historic Gem & Century Theatres and Century Grille
We are located in the heart of downtown Detroit at 333 Madison Ave, next to the Detroit Athletic Club, across the street from Music Hall and the 36th District Courthouse, and within walking distance of the Detroit Opera House, Harmonie Park and Comerica Park.

Secure, lighted parking is available in our attached structure (pictured on left below), at $10 per car.   Parking in the Gem Theatre Parking Garage is on a first-come, first-served basis. Please plan to arrive early during busy downtown events such as sporting events and major concerts.

Directions Updated 2/14/09

From I-75 Southbound
Take I-75 South to I-375 South and exit at Madison Avenue (left exit). Follow Madison a few blocks to Brush Street. Turn right on Brush Street. The entrance to the parking garage will be on your left.

IMPORTANT NOTE: From 2/14/09 - 3/15/09 There weill be construction on I-75 Southbound between Clay Street and Madison Ave. This construction WILL INCLUDE WEEKEND CLOSURES of the freeway which will impact traffic coming to the Gem Theatre from the north. During the week, the freeway will be maintain 2 lanes of traffic in each direction. On weekends, or to avoid construction traffic, please use the following alternate route: 

Alternate: Take I-75 South to the Davison Freeway WEST. Take the Exit for the LODGE FREEWAY SOUTH (on the left side of the Davison). Follow the directions for the Lodge Freeway below.

From I-75 Northbound
Take I-75 North to Exit 50 (Gd. River, Fox Center, Comerica Park). Follow the Fisher Freeway Service Drive to Brush Street* (Just past the Detroit Tigers Parking Garage). Turn right onto Brush Street. The Gem Parking Garage will be 1/4 mile down the street on your right.

IMPORTANT NOTE: I-75 will be closed from Clark Street to Rosa Parks Blvd. Beginning February 24 through 2009! Our Recommendation is to take Southfield Road North to I-94 and follow the directions below.

From I-94 (directions from 2/14 - 3/15 during I-75 Southbound construction)
Take I-94 toward downtown Detroit to the M-10 Lodge interchange; head south on M-10 The Lodge into the city. Take the Bagley Avenue Exit (on the left side of the freeway just past I-75). Follow the exit ramp to the traffic signal and proceed strait on Bagley until it ends at Grand Circus Park & Park Avenue.  Turn right onto Park and follow Park around Grand Circus Park to Madison Street, just after the Detroit Opera House.  Turn right onto Madison Street and proceed to the third traffic signal (Brush Street). Turn left onto Brush. You will see the Gem Theatre Parking garage immediately behind the theatre on the left side of the street.

From I-96 (Please Note: Due to the Reconstruction of the the I-96/I-75 Interchange (above) we have changed our recommended driving directions for I-96)
Take I-96 East to I-94 EAST.  Take the M-10 Lodge Freeway exit SOUTH. Take the Bagley Avenue Exit (on the left side of the freeway just past I-75). Follow the exit ramp to the traffic signal and proceed strait on Bagley until it ends at Grand Circus Park & Park Avenue.  Turn right onto Park and follow Park around Grand Circus Park to Madison Street, just after the Detroit Opera House.  Turn right onto Madison Street and proceed to the third traffic signal (Brush Street). From M-10 / The Lodge Freeway

Take M-10, The Lodge Freeway south into the city. Take the Bagley Avenue Exit (on the left side of the freeway just past I-75). Follow the exit ramp to the traffic signal and proceed strait on Bagley until it ends at Grand Circus Park & Park Avenue.  Turn right onto Park and follow Park around Grand Circus Park to Madison Street, just after the Detroit Opera House.  Turn right onto Madison Street and proceed to the third traffic signal (Brush Street). Turn left onto Brush. You will see the Gem Theatre Parking garage immediately behind the theatre on the left side of the street.


* During Tigers & Lions games at Comerica Park and Ford Field, Brush Street is closed between Montcalm & Adams Street. During these events, Turn right onto Woodward Avenue. Proceed four lights to Witherell. Turn left onto Witherell and follow to Madison. Turn right onto Madison and proceed three lights to Brush. Turn left onto Brush. The Gem Parking Garage will be on your left.
