Dave Davies

Principle character: Eddie Darling
Dave Davies has been performing improv comedy on stagefor over ten years and in real life for over forty. In addition to television and radio commercials, Dave has performed for audiences from Toronto to Puerto Rico and many parts in between. Dave can normally be seen causing laughter at theaters and comedy clubs around town or at home wife his wife, Rena, and their three wonderful children, Stephanie, Daniel (PJ), and Dana.

Tim McKendrick

Principle character: Nick Lovey
Tim has been doing improv in and around the Detroit area for almost two years. He is thrilled to be back with the cast of Deceptions, and honored to be working with such a fabulous ensemble. Tim was recently seen in the Planet Ant Comedy: Pedro Orsini's Parade of Penniless Players. He can also be seen performing with his improv troupes Six Month Suspension, and Eye Candy.

 

Jaime Moyer
Principle Character: Darla

Jaime is very pleased to be a part of Deceptions to the Rule. She has performed locally at The Performance Network, The Theatre Company, TheZeitgeist, Attic Theatre, Music Hall, and at the Second City where she is currently an understudy. She received her Bachelor of Arts from The University of Detroit Mercy, with whom she traveled to Greece to perform for one glorious summer. Jaime also enjoys doing commercials and voice over work, because it pays well. Thank you and enjoy the show!

Amy Phillips
Principle Character: Margaret Kensington

Amy is thrilled to be performing for the first time at The Century Theatre. Amy spent one year studying at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City. She is a full time commercial actress and spends her free time doing improvisational training at the Second City Conservatory and dabbling in amateur stand-up comedy. You can hear her on occasion do some of her celebrity impersonations on 104.3 WOMC’s Dick Purtan and Purtan’s People.

Mark Sobolewski
Principle Character: Ryan Kensington
Mark is pleased to be a part of the Century's
production of Deceptions to the Rule, and working with such a talented cast and crew. Mark is currently a featured performer in both the Damnation Game and X Show at the Improv Inferno. In addition to his work at the Improv Inferno, Mark is an actor/writer with the experimental theatre company Motoprism, and can be seen in their show The Reality Buffet. Mark can also be seen improvising movies for live audiences with the Detroit Neutrino Project. In addition to performing, Mark is faculty at the Second City Detroit, teaching in both the acting and improvisation programs. Mark would like to thank everyone at the Gem/Century, Improv Inferno, Motoprism, Neutrino Project, Planet Ant, and Second City for their continued encouragement. A special thank you to Shawn Handlon for his unbelievable dedication and support.

Shawn Handlon
Director

Shawn Handlon is a member of The Second City Detroit’s mainstage cast. He recently co-wrote and is currently performing in "In iPod We Trust" at the Second City's new theater in Novi. In the old downtown theater, he performed in “Woodward to your Mother” and The Second City Detroit's tenth anniversary revue, “Ten.” Prior to joining the mainstage cast, Handlon spent two years as a member of The Second City’s Michigan Touring Company. He also co-wrote and performed in several alternative productions at The Second City Detroit, including “Genital Ben,” “Extra-Terrestrial Chicken,” and “Crouching Reindeer, Hidden Santa.” Handlon is also a member of the Improv Colony at the Planet Ant Theater in Hamtown, where he has co-written and performed in seven original comedies and directed three, “Boo-Ha-Ha,” “25,” and the original staging of "Deceptions to the Rule" earlier this year. At the Abreact Theater in Greektown, he very recently directed "Cancer: The Musical," which he wrote with Tom Donnellon, a surgeon and cancer survivor, and John Edwartowski, the Musical Director at The Second City Detroit. Additionally, Handlon teaches improvisation and writing in The Second City Detroit’s Training Center.
